Who I am
I'm Lionel, operating Dash Again Studios at dashagain.co.uk. I am the data controller for the personal data described below. You can reach me at lionel@dashagain.co.uk for any privacy question or request.
What I collect
The only personal data I actively collect is what you choose to enter into my contact form:
- Your name
- Your email address
- The message you write to me
I do not run analytics or advertising trackers, and I do not set tracking cookies. My form submissions are handled by Netlify Forms, which — like any web host — automatically records technical information such as your IP address and timestamp as part of processing the request and protecting against spam.
Why I use it
I use the details you submit for one purpose: to read and reply to your message. I do not sell your data, I do not share it with third parties for marketing, and I will not add you to any mailing list without you separately and clearly asking me to.
My lawful basis under the UK GDPR is legitimate interest — specifically, my interest in reading and responding to enquiries that people choose to send me. Providing your details is entirely voluntary; you only share them if you decide to write to me.
I do not carry out any automated decision-making or profiling on the information you send.
Where it's stored
Submissions are stored in my Netlify account and may also arrive in my email inbox so I can reply. Netlify is based in the United States, so your data is transferred outside the UK. That transfer is covered by the UK-approved safeguards Netlify provides — the EU Standard Contractual Clauses together with the UK International Data Transfer Addendum — as set out in their privacy policy and Data Processing Agreement. You can ask me for more detail on these safeguards at any time.
I keep your message only as long as I need it to handle your enquiry and any follow-up, and in any case I delete contact submissions within 12 months of my last correspondence with you, from both Netlify and my inbox.
Your rights & deleting your data
Under the UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Access the personal data I hold about you, and receive a copy of it.
- Rectify data that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Erase your data ("right to be forgotten").
- Restrict my processing of your data in certain circumstances.
- Object to my processing, since I rely on legitimate interest — if you object, I will stop unless I have compelling grounds to continue.
- Data portability where it applies.
I've kept the process deliberately simple:
- Email lionel@dashagain.co.uk from the address you contacted me with, and tell me which of the above you'd like.
- I'll locate your submission in my Netlify Forms records and email inbox, action your request, and confirm once it's done — within 30 days, and free of charge.
If you ever feel I've mishandled your data, you can complain to the UK's data-protection authority, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) — though I'd appreciate the chance to put things right first.
Fonts & third parties
I host my fonts rather than loading them from Google Fonts, so viewing the site does not send your IP address to Google or any other font provider. The only third parties that handle your data are the hosting and email services described above, and only when you choose to contact me.

If I change how I handle data, I'll update this page and the "last updated" date above. For anything else, just get in touch.
